A sun strip runs across the top of the windshield and cuts the low-angle glare your sun visor misses, the kind you get heading into the morning or evening sun. Full windshield film is also available for heat control through the front glass.
Pennsylvania allows a transparent strip along the top edge of the windshield as long as it stays within 3 inches of the top and does not come down past the AS-1 line marked on the glass. The rest of the windshield has to let at least 70% of light through.
New Jersey law bars non-transparent material on the windshield and the front side windows, so ask before booking and we will go over what fits a car you drive there.
That is cheap dyed film failing. Carbon and ceramic film do not do that. If anything ever lifts or hazes, bring it back to the shop and we will check it out.
Carbon blocks a solid amount of heat for the money and never fades. Ceramic blocks noticeably more heat and glare at the same shade, so the cabin stays cooler without having to go darker.
